I also like doing random acts of silliness in public, such as
handing out cookies or flowers to strangers
. In exchange for getting to keep her, I quit
cigarettes and my main drug; however, there are no standing
objections to either of them and I still find myself taking very
deep breaths when there's a secondhand-smoke smell lingering in the
air [unless they were disgustingly cheap cigarettes because those
smell icky]. I can pretend I'll get over that but it's highly
likely that if I ever get around to moving out I'll take up my old
habits again
. This isn't to say that I let my friends and family
choose my boyfriends; that's certainly not the case. But because my
immediate family and closest friends know me so well, if they don't
like the guy I'm dating, there's usually a good and relevant
reason, even if I don't see it immediately
